So http://blogs.secondlife.com launched today.  (two months later than I had said we'd launch back in August when I started this thing.)

We were supposed to launch at 0900 PST, so I wanted to be in at work around 0730 pst, and today, of all days:  the alarm didnt go off.

I wake up and blearily ask [livejournal.com profile] byronium  what time it was... when he said 7:15 am, I confirmed it, and literally teleported into the shower. I dont think he's ever seen me move that fast. What was funny was I wasnt cursing, angry or upset. Just... ice cold and moving. I was ready to head out the door by 7:45 am, and the BEST part? BEST part of this?

When I am getting ready to put my shoes on, I find that [livejournal.com profile] byronium  (also ready to go as I had to drop him off at the train station and I didnt manage to communicate to him he could have stayed in bed and taken a cab later...) had made coffee, and filled my travel mug.

I got to work by 8:10, coffee in hand. Breakfast was that and a banana.

we launched about 11 am, and its been _mostly_ smooth. Some issues, nothing unmanageable.

and everytime I look at that coffee mug, it makes me smile so big. I told the other P*Ms today, and everyone said, "He's a keeper!" and I agree. (no, I will not keep him in a box under my bed. often.)

Success in life doesnt just come from one's own work, but also on the help of friends and coworkers. The successful (and quiet) launch of this product really had more to do with the people around me, both coworkers and my support. I  really do feel well loved and supported both professionally and personally.
