howl's moving castle
Oct. 8th, 2007 11:25 pmis on TV again tonite. I'm totally in love with this movie. The opening scene where Sophie and Howl leap into the air and fly, and she's so willing to follow him just makes me melt. When he leaves her and flies off, saying, "that's my girl," it reminds me of a friend of mine who always made me feel so safe with him whever we'd do something crazy or dangerous or he'd talk me into taking a leap of faith -- 'That's my girl," he'd say, and I'd laugh because being his girl was the FURTHEST thing either of us would ever want but that was still ok.
I also love Howl's Moving Castle because the heroine isnt always young and beautiful, and I love just how she calmly accepts what happens to her and deals with it.
Oh yea baby, just _deal_ with the chaos that life throws at you. AND she rescues the handsome prince, doesnt she?
