So I managed to do the whole living room, dining room and the hallway so far, with my new steam cleaner -- I already feel better hanging out in the living room. The next step in spring cleaning is to buy more hangers, Do All My Laundry, seperate what I dont wear and hang the rest. Once all the clothes are off the floor of the bedroom, I can clean the bedroom carpets too!

I think once all the feather bed/ pillows and comforters are cleaned, I'm gonna breathe a lot better in the bedroom too -- maybe another week or two to get all that done.

yay me!

After the clothes and carpets, I'm going thru all my paperback books and cutting back on those, and lastly, all the boxes of papers I never look at. Its [livejournal.com profile] antuvschle's posts on clutterbusting that sort of got me onto this kick, and I'm actually enjoying it in some weirdly masochistic way. I look forward to simplifying my space some more!

We were watching Azumi last night -- a japanese martial arts and costume flick, and a couple of scenes showed those lovely japanese houses with the rice paper doors...

I like that simpleness -- reminded me of living in India.

(gosh, these carpets look so clean! go hoover!)

de-cluttering is very liberating. it's easy to get to a point where your possessions own you.
