I had a lovely dinner out with a friend last night; we went to Foreign Cinema, which neither of us had eaten at, but I'd heard good things about, and wanted to try.
First off, the drinks are named after movies, so I had "The Last Temptation" - pomegranite margarita and a "Touch of Evil" which was tequla, cointreau, bitters and a twist of orange. Quite good, tho .. you know, bitter. :)
We split the french onion soup, which was good, tho not as good as Chez Maman's on the weekend. We had a cheese platter with Black Butte Reserve and Mt. Tam from Cowgirl - the black butte was amazing with macerated berries, making me want something hard and sharp for Sunday as well. (minds. out of the gutter. I meant CHEESE)
She had the risotto with spinach and wild mushrooms - YUM, and I had the Duck Breast with cherries. ZOMG. i mean, seriously.
That was fun, headed on home and knitted some more while watching bad tv and hung out. Went to bed at a reasonable hour, but woke up at 1:30 am, woozy, sick to my stomach, sweaty. Blood sugar was a whopping 46. I stupidly had forgotten to check before bed, thinking I'd been eating late and had eaten plenty, but again am reminded that I HAVE to check.
gah. that WRECKED my night's sleep because I stayed up until 2:30 to make sure I was ok. I was also good to not eat EVERY BIT of ice cream and juice in my fridge.
Blood sugar this morning is perfect. I on the other hand was woozy and kept falling back asleep. Worked from home until 10, and raced into work. Have dr's appts this afternoon and am looking forward to a relaxing night of Doing Exactly What I Want.
