gayathriI bought a really nice bicycle last week, and with all the moto troubles, and being unwilling to pay 15$ a day to park my car at work, I decided to try and ride my bicycle to work on Thursday...
It actually went well until I made the rookie mistake that leaves me CURSING when I do it on the motorcycle, which was get onto Market Street. Its crowded, with buses, cars and _railroad tracks_.
Why yes, inexperience is a bitch, because not being used to having such narrow skinny tires, I got it caught in the railtracks and fell right over, wacking my head and laptop bag on the hard pavement.
No damage to my bike except some cosmetic to the handlebar.
Laptop is DENTED. In for a repair. I do have a shiney new loaner macbook tho.
Me: yesterday, some scrapes and bruises that have gotten worse today, I'm all stiff. :( I can't turn my head to the left yet, and vit I isnt cutting it this afternoon.
That being said, riding home wasnt bad. I need a mirror to see what's behind me, and the last 3 blocks to my house are Not Possible Yet - grade is 11-15% and I'm just not that strong.
I'm going to try it again twice next week. after getting the helmet checked out. or buying a new one.
