i'm a big fat potatoe slug
Jun. 25th, 2007 02:32 pmbecauae I did not go to the gym today. I woke up having trouble breathing, with a raging headache that only 3 bottles of smart water and a ton of Vit. I has barely abated. Ever muscle in my arms and legs and stomach are sore.
I've have not been so happy in years.
1st off, going to the gym regularly for the month of June made this weekend a TON easier. I was able to do EVERYTHING and only had to sit out one event due to my asthma rather then my body being too tired or not strong enough. I have new exercises and things to start doing that will only make riding aggressively even better. :)
Mystery School ROCKED. I actually won an award for most improved student. I shaved 11 seconds off of my time in the TT course by 1. getting the slow turn right and not wasting too much time in it 2. getting the fast turns faster and not wasting any time in it, and remembering how to upshift and downshift in the straights 4. being less afraid of _going_ fast on dirt.
I know this pattern drives my music teacher nuts, but I work better if I can practice things _slowly_ first, getting things correct, like braking, shifting, body position, etc. and then speed it up as the rythmn gets into my system. It was so amazing how quickly things came back, like each lap, pushing a corner deeper and deeper. Everyone commented how great my lines were, and then when we were 'competing', everyone commented how I was able to keep them from taking my lines. I was never good at passing, but I was _great_ at blocking, and I didnt lose that knack. I helped one of my teammates win one of our heat races by keeping everyone else from passing! hahahaa! Racing just isnt about going fast, you know!
