This time, I made rajma and rice and roasted some beets again. Over roasted the beets, thus reminding me I need a kitchen timer. Instead I bought a watch. (which doesnt have a timer. Doh. I think my fone does tho) - Didnt use prepbowls, but used saved plastic containers from the last time I ate take out from the thai place that uses really nice plastic dishes. Hell, who needs prepbowls! I have GladWare! :)

Alicia Bell and I ate it with a bottle of Barbera D'Alba 2007 - a little young, but I still love that grape.

Experiement Three didnt complete because I was tired of chopping and didnt make an apple pie, but will this weekend.
I made peppers, onions and kielbasa over brown rice. Since I was also making tea, I had three of four burners going at once! Roasted some yams and potatoes again, 'cause its too damn easy.

Failures: Roasting garlic - have to wrap in foil, they finish too soon and burn.

The fun is still that there is no prep space, so I use the dining room table. I'll take pics.

But dont need prep bowls, and still working with two saute pans, two pots. I need one more lid tho.

This (http://www.amazon.com/Wrapables-Chefs-Quad-Timer/dp/B000YQNHFA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1233300929&sr=1-1) is my favoritest kitchen timer ever. A little overengineered, sure, but possibly the last kitchen timer you will ever need.

Until you drop it on the floor, which is bound to happen in my kitchen. I'll stick with the under-$5 model.

Yeah, I have a couple of ikea-style digital ones I got for maybe $2 each; when I was in pastry-cheffing school I carried them in my pocket everywhere. More accurate than the wind-up kind, will beep at you til you deal with what needs to be dealt with, and if you break them they are easily replaceable.

We have an old-fashioned darkroom timer too, which is fun but I can't hear it from everywhere in the house.

I have two! :) I am going to check out some freeware and see - since usually I'm playing on a laptop while cooking anyway.
